Join Hathorn Therapy Services for a small-group Reading Bootcamp designed to strengthen core reading skills and build confidence in early readers. Led by a licensed speech-language pathologist, this intensive five-session program uses explicit, evidence-based instruction to target skills that support successful reading. Sessions are structured, supportive, and engaging, while encouraging students to make meaningful progress and become life-long readers.
At Reading Bootcamp, we’ll focus on:
Phonemic Awareness - Learners play with individual sounds in words through fun games that build the foundation for reading success.
Speech Sounds - Children master correct pronunciation of tricky sounds using stories and multisensory activities.
Decoding/Reading - Students connect letters to sounds and practice with engaging decodable texts.
Spelling - Budding writers learn to map sounds and words through hands-on activities, like magnetic letters, whiteboards, and word games.
Literacy-Based Intervention - Children experience the joy of reading through interactive read-alouds and engaging comprehension activities.
Extension Activities - Creative projects reinforce literacy skills as children illustrate story characters, create mini-books, and participate in dramatic play connected to their reading adventures.
